Disney’s original refurbishment notice tied the closure to exterior work at the Great Ceremonial House. The original notice set a mid-April through late June window, and that window has now well passed. Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace’s official Walt Disney World dining page still reads, “Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace is currently closed for refurbishment. From mid‑April through late June, Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be temporarily closed due to refurbishment work at the Grand Ceremonial House. Guests may see or hear refurbishment work during daytime hours until the work is complete.
