Splash Mountain Remains Closed a Day After Ride Vehicle Sinks

Splash Mountain is temporarily closed this morning, according to the My Disney Experience app. The downtime this morning continues a closure that took place last night when a ride vehicle sunk around 5:30pm.

The downtime this morning continues not only a rough reopening for the log flume attraction, but also a rough reopening for other Magic Kingdom attractions such as Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress that experienced some extended downtime, and the Tomorrowland PeopleMover, which is essentially under an unannounced refurbishment after failing to work when the theme parks reopened in mid-July.

Splash Mountain is scheduled to be rethemed to a Princess and the Frog attraction at an unspecified point in the future.
