All Four Disney World Theme Parks Now Using New Artificial Intelligence Bag Scanners

Magic Kingdom has finally joined the other three Walt Disney World theme parks in implementing the new Evolv security screening devices at the Transportation and Ticket Center and Magic Kingdom-area hotel checkpoints. The scanners will usher in a new era of security at Walt Disney World while decreasing the friction of the bag screening process.

Previously, Disney’s Animal Kingdom implemented the system on July 11th, Disney’s Hollywood Studios implemented the system on August 6th, and EPCOT implemented the system on October 14th.

The scanners, as seen below at EPCOT, don’t require guests to open their bags for a manual check or even stop walking, instead relying on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the screening process. Evolv says the system can scan more than 3,600 people per hour, which will effectively remove bag check lines at the theme parks.

By reducing the friction of the bag check process such as manual searching, security screening at the entrance to the theme parks is a breeze. Also, utilizing AI reduces the possibility of human error during a bag check.

Disney has also rolled out the system to Disney Springs, which previously didn’t have a bag check or security screening process.

Here’s an overview of the system from Evolv.
