Disney Is Now Canceling Vacations Through Mid-May

Disney has begun to send out cancellation emails to guests with vacations planned for mid-May.

Last week, we wrote that Disney cancelled vacations through May 2nd. Today, we’re getting reports that Disney has begun to send cancellation emails to guests with reservations through May 16th. This is a two-week extension of the previous cancellation period.

In an email to guests, Disney notes that we are in the midst of rapidly changing times, and that the Walt Disney World theme parks and resorts are closed. In the email, guests are given the option to modify or cancel the resort reservation up to their original check-in date. If no action is taken by then, Disney will automatically process a refund.

Disney also makes guests aware of the free dining offer for those who have been impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) closures. For full details on the free dining recovery offer, check out our earlier post.

Disney is seemingly targeting a June reopening with June 1st being the earliest that guests can make new reservations for at this time. That said, the California governor recently made statements that put a summer reopening very much in question.

As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com for the latest Disney Parks news and photos. We’ll continue to bring you news and photos, where possible, through the Disney Parks closure due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and will resume our normal coverage once the parks reopen to guests on July 11th!
