Disney World Lifts Cast Member Blockouts Through September 3rd, Including Friends and Family

Disney has just unblocked Cast Members from visiting Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom through September 3rd. Two things stand out as interesting with this move. First, it is for a longer time period than it has been in the past. With previous unblockings, it has been a week or so at a time. Second, and most importantly, is that the Main Entrance pass is unblocked too – meaning Cast Members can get their friends and family into the theme parks, not just themselves.

The move comes hours after Disney opened up more availability for Passholders to visit through September 3rd. It would seem like Disney is seeing low attendance numbers through the first week of September and is relying on Annual Passholders and Cast Members to get into the parks. Disney CEO Bob Chapek recently noted the lack of demand for a Disney World vacation right now.

Cast Members will still be required to make a Disney Park Pass reservation to enter the theme parks.
