Rise of the Resistance is once again experiencing issues opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The headliner attraction has had a rough return to work since Hollywood Studios reopened on July 15th. Of course, there are some unpredictable events that lead to the issues earlier this month, namely a lightning strike that caused a day of downtime.
More recently, we rode the attraction where the Kylo Ren audio-animatronic was put into “B-Mode” for the entire day after experiencing unspecified issues. Here’s a look at B-Mode from when we rode a few days ago.
Today, Cast Members are not sure if or when the attraction will open. The easiest way to check if the attraction is operating is to check the My Disney Experience app where it will show groups once the attraction starts boarding.
Today’s downtime comes after a couple of days stretch where the attraction functioned wonderfully, getting through all boarding groups that were distributed for the day.
It’s downtimes like these that throw a wrench into our hopes that Disney would test a standby queue for the ride. We’re 9 months into operations now and Disney is still needing to rely on the boarding group system as a crutch for their most ambitious attraction yet.
